4 effective ways to make right decisions in midst of chaos
Whether it’s business or the battlefield, decision making must be clear, intentional and purposeful. Having said this, making smart decisions also requires a keen awareness to know when to act fast, when not to and when to just listen.
We make hundreds of decisions daily. They’re the pulse we live on. Are we making good ones? The schedule is packed, the pressure is on, and we maintain our responsibilities at whatever cost.
So, how do you let the situation dictate and maintain clarity of thought and the presence of mind amidst “chaos?”
Below are some factors through which you can find certainty in uncertain situations:
Write your ‘why’
Remember your why, the compelling purpose that pulled you in this situation. Purpose creates focus, it provides direction and enables decision making. If your purpose runs or falls into that gray between justice and injustice, right and wrong, then so do your values and—as well as those you lead.
Rehearse your moves
The likely and unlikely courses of action that might ensue your responses to each. Mentally rehearse these responses in your mind so that if they actually happen, your mind has already “experienced” the situation and your decision making becomes intuitive, just be careful to not over-analyze.
Voice your intuitions
Is this decision ego or soul driven? This is raising your level of consciousness and shifting from being in control to a place of trust. Referring to one of the old sayings, “if you can stop the chatter in your mind long enough to get the message you will find intuition is never wrong”.
Explore your choices
Consider all of your choices. If you can’t see choices, ask others what they see for you. To discover the right answer, ask yourself introspective questions:
- Will this choice bring me long-term fulfillment or will it bring me short-term gratification?
- Is this an act of self-love or is it an act of self-sabotage?
- Am I standing in my power or am I trying to please another?
Experience the magnificent transformation in your life and business if you take a moment to consciously upgrade your decisions and to be having prompt decisions even in a chaotic situation.
